Fit Friday

It has been a crazy, good, busy week. Unfortunately, me and baby are home today, because she got sick. But it's ok, God is seeing us through...we needed a lil' break anyway. I haven't been able to post anything for a few reasons: 1} we moved and well exercising and trying to eat healthy seemed impossible. I did what I could when I could. 2} and quite frankly I have not been motivated at all. I guess from all that moving tired me out, I was moving alot during the move so maybe that counts as excercise??

I need the accountability so I figured I needed to post something for Fit Friday, this will motivate me to get back to living healthy.

Today I am going to be talking about Keifer....have you ever had it? Well if not let me tell you.... it's so good it's like a yogurt smoothie that is super good for you.

Keifer drinks provide highly absorbable calcium, highly absorbable protein, excellent amounts of probiotic bacteria and are famous for helping to protect the body’s bones, teeth and gums and to invigorate the body’s overall health. Keifer drinks help keep the body’s temperature cool and well-adjusted in hot weather and strong in cold weather. Keifer drinks are excellent for children as well as adults. They can be a “meal in themselves” in the morning. Keifer drinks are especially recommended for the elderly because their nutrients are so easy to absorb and help prevent muscle wasting. You can also use the Keifer drink in place of regular milk to use over cereal (hot or cold). (Note: avoid most commercial milk – typically high in toxic pesticides and artificial hormones).

This milk is different from regular milk because it’s fermented with probiotic kefir grains. Kefir milk is also loaded with tryptophan – an amino acid that also helps raise serotonin levels in the brain – which can help reduce anxious feelings. Drinking one cup a day is enough to keep you feeling calm. {After praying this would be great to take if you have something important you are doing and you are feeling anxious.}
The picture above is the brand I have tried and love, I tried the strawberry one, but I am sure the others taste just as good. If you are close to a Sprouts you can grab one of these for $1.50, on sale, retail for $4 and up. It's a managers special right now, and it's organic, so head on over to try it out. You will not regret it.

TMI: I suffer from IBS and hypoglycemia so this is a great drink for me to have in the mornings to cleanse and coat your gut, intestines and it provides protein for my hypoglycemia too. I didn't get bloated on this at all and it was filling.

Here's more info on it.

Fed Up Challenge | Sugar Free for 10 days

The Fedup Challenge

Fed Up!! Are you fed up with what they are putting in our food these days?  This new documentary on Sugar is mind blowing. It will open up your eyes the next time you feast your eyes on that yummy dessert.

This is a must see documentary. Sugar is an addictive substance that we use daily. I have been joking around for the past 10+ years saying to my friends that I am addicted to sugar, so much so as someone is to drugs, smoking, or alcohol. I've always had a sweet tooth, so to say, or a sweet palette. I just love sugar, I've prayed to be delivered from it, but I have to have it at least once a day. This movie will help in removing sugar from your eating habits.

Thumbs up if you feel the same way! When I first saw this trailer I was so excited because this has been a struggle for me and I need to get it into my brain that it is so bad for me! Even the healthy sugar, of course in moderation with that one. One step at a time....you can do it.

On Monday Katie Couric is challenging everyone on Monday, May 12th for 10 days to remove sugar from your diet. Watch this short video for all the info.

So come and join us in this Challenge! Like this post and leave a comment if you will be joining us!

Fit Friday | Chia Seeds

Awe..ch-ch-chia....chh-chh--chhia! Lol...that commercial brings back memories. Speaking of Chia that is today's topic.
Chia Seeds | The chia seeds are “super” because, like a superfruit, they deliver the maximum amount of nutrients with minimum calories. They have several of the same benefits as the more well-known “super seed” flax, but unlike flax seed, you don’t need to grind them to reap the health benefits. The nutritional benefits of chia include fiber, omega fatty acids, calcium, antioxidants and much more – even protein!
I love Chia seeds and the importance of them, there are so many added benefits to using them. You can put them on just about everything: omelettes, granola, smoothies, salads, meat and more. American Dietetic Association recommends 20 to 35 grams of fiber each day, and unfortunatley most Americans are only consuming about 12 -15 grams. Chia seeds has 11 grams of fiber per ounce, chia delivers 42% of your recommended daily value of fiber in a single serving.

Chia is known for it's Superfood Skills. There are a few reasons why I love it soo much and have been using it for awhile now!
  • Chia absorbs up to 12 times its own weight and expands to curb your appetite
  • Chia seeds have more omega-3 fatty acids than salmon!
  • It also contains high amounts of omega-6
  • And my fav reason why...Chia also contains calcium; in fact, it delivers 18% of your daily value per ounce, which is three times more than skim milk. I am lactose intoerlant so this works for me.
Here is an awesome video on Chia Seeds, be sure to put the music {on my blog} on pause on the right side bar. I love this youtube channel it has a bunch of great videos that I will be sharing.

Please stop by my Vitacost Shop to check out Chia Seeds

Fit Friday

Hi!! So I am going to start Fit Friday again. I used to do this on my CrafTEA Mom blog. I am doing a few challenges to get me motivated and accountable and wanted to share them with you.

Finding time to workout, let alone find time, is one of the main reasons why I love HIIT workouts.  You can do in less than 10 mins, 3-4 days a week. I have been doing HIIT workouts for the past couple of years and it worked for me....up until I got pregnant. HIIT workouts can last from 5 min - 45 mins. The best thing about the workouts is that you can do it all in the comfort of your own home and the best thing is they are free.

You can google it, youtube it, or go pinterest and just search HIIT workouts. I have found a few that I will be doing  this week and has worked for me. They are less than 10 minutes and man do you get a workout. HIIT workouts burn fat calories 9x more than regular cardio workouts and it's in more than half the time.

This is why I love HIIT workouts so much. Don't spend soo much money, as I did, or get bored, with those gimmicky workout videos that you spend $100's on. I bought it used the program and finished and now it just sits there. I love using different Hiit workouts, it changes up thing, you don't get bored with it. You just need a formula to go by. Like something like this. And I will be posting every Friday, they are already scheduled, different workout schedules and plans for it. Will you join me in this journey to get my body back into shape.

Here's what my week will look like next week, subject to change.

Mon - 10 min HIIT workout
Tues - Rest
Wed - 15 min HIIT workout
Thurs - Rest
Fri - 10 min HIIT workout
Sat Rest
Sun Rest

Here are some videos:

10 min HIIT workout

This one below, I am will be starting next Monday and will be doing every morning until Friday.

Start out simple....don't over exert yourself. These are great workouts to get you started. If you would like to join me every morning in this challenge leave me a comment below and let me know how you are doing.

How to shop healthy with WIC

With times being a little tough right now, I wanted to show you how you can shop healthy with WIC. You got to work with what you got. I am currently not working, but my husband makes a lil' too much so we don't qualify for food stamps. Anyway, I am totally not ashamed to share this, it's humbling, and it is also a blessing to have this.

If times are hard and you need a little extra help see if you qualify for WIC in your local community. WIC is for woman, infants and children.

Made To Crave

As the new year begins and diets, and exercise plans start up again, after all the eating during the Holidays. I began to pray about my struggles I have with food a couple of weeks ago. I am choosing to not make a resolution, but a change, a change in my heart that only God can do.

Well I have to confess I am an emotional eater, and it has also been an idol for me. I eat when I am emotional...when I am happy or sad......I love to eat!! I've had this struggle all my life. I come from a big family, family of 10, four of them being big brothers. I started this bad habit during meal times when I was younger. If you were the last one to get food most times there wasn't any left. So I would make it my goal to be first and get the most I could, because there was no seconds.  There were times when we didnt know where our next meals would come, so when we did have food I would make sure that I had enough and then some. I carried that bad habit with me.  I serve big portions, and I sometimes have no self-control. So this is my prayer this year to take it to the Lord daily. I can't do it on my own, but I can do all things through His strength{Phil 2:14}. I didn't realize that there was a deeper issue until recently. I want to be delivered from this struggle/ temptaion.

A couple of weeks ago I had been praying that God would help me with this struggle, especially during Christmas. Because I love sweets! A couple of days ago I was on my way to work and I had turned on the radio and Focus on the Family was on, and their special guest was Lysa TerKeurst the author of Made to Crave. Listen below or click here to listen to it.

http://www.focusonthefamily.com/family/JWPlayer/mediaplayer.swf" flashvars="allowfullscreen=true&allowscriptaccess=always&autostart=true&shownavigation=true&enablejs=true&volume=50&file=http://fotf.cdnetworks.net/fotf/mp3/fof_daily_broadcast/ffd_2012/1_jan_feb_march/ffd_20120104.mp3&image=http://www.focusonthefamily.com/~/media/images/media-center/logos-fotf/daily-broadcast-640x360.ashx" />

This is very encouraging to listen to, and I could relate on so many levels. I will not be able to get rid of my struggles in my own strength. No workout videos, or crazy exercise schedule, or unreal diet plans will help me. It starts in my heart and only God can change that. I encourage you if you are struggling with similar issues or thinking about starting a new diet plan or exercise plan for the new year pray seek the Lord and ask Him to help you and allow him to guide you through it. I have not read this book yet, but plan on doing it Lordwilling.

My ultimate goal is to have peace, peace in my heart about this struggle. If you need prayer or encouragement leave me a comment and i will pray for you. I also encourage to pray about an accountability partner. I have been blessed with one and she is such a blessing and encouragement.

Do Not Worry

"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. 25 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble

I love Lysa's prayer and wanted to make it my prayer.
Dear Lord, if this devotion is a call to action that I need to make, please help me. I want to see the root of my issue, I really do. I want to learn to crave and depend on only You.
 In Jesus’ Name, Amen

God Bless you,
Adrienne

Day # 8

Well it has been 1 week and 1 day since I've been on the Prism Weight Loss Program. And at times it's been a little hard, but not as much as I'd thought. Alot of it is mainly telling myself no you can't have that and not giving in to myself knowing that I have someone to be accountable too. But I have to say 4th of July weekend was tough. The night of 4th of July, I did cheat a little, but it was mainly because of the only resources I had to choose for food and not planning ahead. Trail and error. But I am noticing clothes are starting to fit a looser and I don't feel that heavy anymore. Thank you Jesus, he has really gotten me threw this, I could not have done it without him. Praise you Lord!!!

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Day #3

Today is the Day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 188:24

How precious it is, Lord to realize you are thinking about me constantly!! I can't even count how many times a day your thoughts turn towards me. And when I waken in the morning, you are still thinking of me! Psalm 139:17-18.

Oh Lord you are so good to me and I love you!!!!!

Well last night was a bit of a struggle. They were making rocky road pudding for snack in CKC (Calvary Kids Club). It was very tempting but I said No!!! Thank you Jesus that you have given me the strength to be able to do that. For I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. Phil 4:13.

I have to tell you that I don't feel as heavy, after eating, as I did a couple of days ago. I've been eating more fruits more vegtables and have just been more aware of what I eat and how many calories it has and what's in it. And also to not over eat, no seconds for me!!!!

Ok, then until tomorrow!! God bless!!

In HIS Love,
Adrienne

But Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible." Mark 10:27 (My Life Verse)

If you are going through trials, count it all joy, the Lord is strengthen you in this time. just cry out to him!!! He hears our prayers!!!

DAY #2

Well today is Day#2 on the Prism Diet. It was a little harder today than yesterday. I overate on the calories yesterday, not realizing it - trial and error. Today they had ice cream in the lounge. That was very tempting. I could smell it already in my mouth. But I remembered that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and I didn't want to let my accountability partner down. It is so important that you have an accountability partner to help and encourage you along the way.

I made it threw work, I pray that dinner would be easy and filling. Well God bless and thank you for stopping by. I'm starting to love the foods I can eat, since it's all I can eat. You start to get a new love for foods that are better for you.
Tonight went great. I made it to my 1000 calories I actually went 166. But it was better than yesterday, I did 1645. Trial and error.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

In His Love,
Adrienne

The Cleanse Part II

Ok, so the Cleanse didn't work out for me as I would have liked it too. My body is too weak to do it because of the hypoglycemia. I am going to try a 3 day detox cleansing and see how that works and then get started on the Prism weighloss program. I can't wait to get started already.

Have a blessed day!!

The Cleanse

I tried the Master Cleanse today realizing I am not ready for it. I think I need a couple of days to get my stuff together to actually do it. I need to get stuff like the lemons, sea salt, herbal laxative tea and some other stuff.

The girls in the office are doing it, but they are doing the perfect cleanse, I believe; at least that's what it sounds like. And it's about mid afternoon and I've downed 1 lemonade drink already. I've drank 1/2 of another. This time they made it with more cayenne. The first one was way better. I only ate a yogurt this morning and I cheated and had a tiny salad for lunch. So I need to go to the store to prepare myself for the next 10 days and then keep praying about it more and wait for the Lord to tell me to GO! I got allot of good advice from my lovely friends. Thanks Cindy, Mel and Deana for assisting me, giving me great advice and encouragement in this. Love ya!!!

I really want to change the way I eat and feed this temple of God's. I've been eating horribly lately and uncontrollable at some points. I love food what can I say; well I really love desserts for that matter. I really got convicted this last week and what confirmed it was that the girls in my office just asked if I wanted to participate and it was like....there it was. It was funny because a couple days before that I just bought the Prizm Weightloss program which I am going to do once I finish this cleanse, I should have my book by then. And the Lord opened that up here at work. He is soo good.

I am really excited to start and cannot wait to see what the Lord is going to do. My goal is to loose 15-20 lbs, sounds like alot but it's what I need to be in the middle of the Healthy range. This is per the BMI Calculator. Right now I am in the overweight range, which is not good health wise.

So please be praying for me these next couple of weeks. I will keep you posted on the Lord's progress.

God Bless,
Adrienne

"for I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me" Phil 4:13.

BE TRANSFORMED

The Lord has laid it on my heart to start to be a good steward over my body. I am going to do The Prism Weight Loss Program.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Luke 12: 23

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? I Cor 6:19

But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified I Cor 9:27

There are many verses in the bible, as you can see above that ministered to me and confirmed it in my heart to want to take better care of my body, and to stop being a glutton. Because frankly that is what I've become. Just being honest. Some people tell me but why you are skinny. Well because of my frame and my height, it can be deceiving. Underneath is BLUBBER!!!! I hide it well. :)) For my height and age I should be between 112-118. Now everyone has different shapes and heights. Not everyone can be 120. If you are 6'2 and are 120 you probably would look unhealthy. I want to feel healthy, I want to be able to also train my children to eat the right foods and not follow my current footsteps of being a glutton. Now I am not saying that you are this is my personal opionion of myself.

I don't feel healthy at all. I would like to do the cleansing before I do the diet, as suggested but I've had a hard time finding info on that. Because I am hypoglycemic it makes it a littl difficult to do that. So if any of you have some tips or know hows for hypoglycemic people please leave a comment. I have about less than 2 weeks until I receive my program in the mail. So if you find out let me know. I know the master cleanse book might have some info on that and if you have the book please check for me and let me know.

Feel free to leave me encouragement, guidance and advise. If you've done the program let me know how you are doing?

This is a picture of me a couple of months ago getting new glasses, but you can see my chubba cheeks. Don't you just want to squezze them, well only Michael and the girls can. But this is before. My arms are a bit chubba too.
So anyway............If you are interested in doing the cleanse and you don't have any health problems like diabetes or hypoglycemia here's the recipe (see falconblanco website below). And also check out the Prism Weight Loss Program at http://www.pwlp.com/about.htm.

What is the Truth?

What is the truth?
Truth is not a feeling. Truth is not an idea. The truth is found in the Bible.Sincerity and good works do not bridge the gap of sin between God and man. Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse a person (Heb. 9:22; John 14:6). Sincerity and good works are merely the reliance upon what is in the individual to merit favor with God. Sincerity is a form of pride when it is appealed to as a justification for being accepted by God: "But God, look at my heart. See how sincere I was? I deserve to be in heaven."No. If sincerity and good works were good enough to satisfy God, then He wouldn't have given us the Bible to correct our sincerely wrong ideas, and He wouldn't have sent His Son to do what our good works cannot.Truth is what God says is true. The truth is important not because it is simply true. It is important because truth is what defines who and what we believe in.Eternity is a long time to be wrong. Especially about Jesus.

What me and my Family Believe

What We Believe
WE BELIEVE the worship of God should be spiritual! Therefore we remain flexible so the Holy Spirit may direct our worship.
WE BELIEVE the worship of God should be inspirational! Therefore we give a great place to music in our worship.
WE BELIEVE the worship of God should be intelligent! Therefore, in our services, we emphasize Bible teaching so God may instruct us how He would be worshipped.
WE BELIEVE the worship of God should be fruitful! Therefore we look for His love in our lives as the greatest evidence that we are truly worshipping Him.

How To Know God

How to Know God

Realize that you are a sinner. No matter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a good person. That is because we are all sinners. We all fall short of God’s desire for us to be holy. The Bible says, “No one is good—not even one” (Romans 3:10 NLT). This is because we cannot become who we are supposed to be without Jesus Christ.Recognize that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.The Bible tells us, “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while were still sinners” (Romans 5:8 NLT). This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.Repent of your sin.The Bible tells us to “repent and be converted” (Acts 3:19 NKJV). The word repent means to change our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him.Receive Jesus Christ into your life.Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church on Sunday. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door (of your life) and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in...” (Revelation 3:20 NKJV).

If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray this prayer and mean it in your heart.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess you as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me. Amen.If you just prayed that prayer and meant it, Jesus Christ has now taken residence in your heart! Your decision to follow Christ means God has forgiven you and that you will spend eternity in heaven.

The Bible tells us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 NKJV).

Praise the Lord, if you just asked Jesus in your heart I want you to know that the Angels in Heaven are rejoicing for you and so am I. Go to http://www.calvarychapel.com/?show=Churches and click on churches to find the closest church to you and go. Go and tell them that you've just accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart. They will be able to lead you to the next step.

God Bless you Brethren.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus!!! Amen!!!
Your sister in Christ Jesus!!!
