Discipleship & Dicipline E-course

Discipleship & Discipline

Practical Parenting Help for the Desperate Mom

September 10th – 13th

Sign up for the Webinar by clicking HERE! or on the picture above.

I am excited to be apart of this launch of the webinar. It's such a blessing to be able to let you know about all this amazing stuff. Sarah Mae and Sally Clarkson are hosting a Webinar beginning tonight at 9p Est time. I highly recommend this webinar, they are two amazing women of God. I've been following them for a couple of years now and love their heart for the Lord and for encouraging mamas along the way.

Here is a quick Overview of what's going on.

Day One: Laying a Foundation of Love - Sally Clarkson
Tuesday, September 10th, 9-10pm EST
Observing God as a parent gives us a pattern to follow as we seek the best for our own children. God extends His love, training, and instruction throughout the Bible for the benefit of His children that He loves.
Day Two: Loving the Wild One - Sarah Mae
Wednesday, September 11th, 9-10pm EST
If there is one thing that I get the most emails and comments on it is my precious Caroline, the former “wild one”. I say former because over the last year she has matured into the most delightful little girl. But it took work and time and intention, and in this webinar I will share with you the journey.
Day Three: Heartfelt Discipline + Your Parenting Questions Answered - Sally Clarkson
Thursday, September 12th, 9-10pm EST
Viewing your child from a Biblical perspective will determine how you view the role of discipline in your children’s lives. In this talk, the goals of discipline will be laid out, and practical advice will be given for the different stages of a child’s life.

The second half of this Webinar will be dedicated to answering your parenting questions.

Day Four: Dealing with Our Junk So We Can Parent with Clarity -Sarah Mae
Friday, September 13th, 9-10pm EST
I believe that respecting our children, relating with them, being honest, and treating them as we would like to be treated is foundational for building loving and trusting relationships. However, in order to be able to parent this way, we first need to deal with our junk.
In this webinar, they will talk about what hinders our ability to parent in freedom and what steps we can take to become true and whole so we can parent with clarity.

What You Will Get

  • Five daily emails with inspiration, key readings and other resources
  • The opportunity to ask Sally your parenting questions
  • My 24 Family Ways PDF Packet

Good Morning Girls - Week 1: Reflection

Loving Like Jesus 3D icon

It has been an amazing week...God has showed me allot in the GMG bible study this week. I was refreshed, enlighten and just so blessed by what my sisters shared with me as well. I had some things I was dealing with at the beginning of this week but by Friday God had totally did a work. when we are drawing closer to Him He is working in us.

The time we spend with Him should far exceed anything else we do. It should and needs to be our first priority. Now granted, I know us mommies have pressing issues like a hungry infant or toddlers. For me I have to carve out that time in the morning, even if it's sacrificing extra time before they all wake up. It never fails, when I do that my day is blessed. And not to say it doesn't have it's trials, but I am less likely to act out in my flesh once I fill myself with Him.

This week I learned more about forgiveness, what faith looks like, how faith is cleansing, Jesus' coming. Forgiveness I can honestly say is one I struggle with at times. Sometimes is easier, and sometimes it's really not. I was reminded that forgiveness is best for me and those I love. Trials and offenses and anything else that causes you to have forgiveness towards another is part of our growth. It draws us closer to Him, it reminds us of what Jesus has done for us. It's the least we could do in return. Forgiveness is humbling, it brings us to our knees. Forgiving grows us, it strengthens us, it's all part of the pruning process.

Good-Morning-Girl-I-Forgive

I also wanted to share this video with you....it was funny I heard it this week and it was perfect.

{If you can't view video click here}
This week I was reminded of my faith, and just having faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. I had some mountains this week, and that small faith that I had removed them. God is good and He is faithful! Also I was reminded that we are to humble ourselves when serving God, and not accept an award, thank you or a pat on the back. I love what Matthew Henry's commentary said

That, whatever we do in the service of Christ, we must be very humble, and not imagine that we can merit any favor at his hand, or claim it as a debt; even the apostles themselves, who did so much more for Christ than others, must not think that they had thereby made him their debtor. 1. We are all God's servants (his apostles and ministers are in a special manner so), and, as servants, are bound to do all we can for his honor. Our whole strength and our whole time are to be employed for him; for we are not our own, nor at our own disposal, but at our Master's. 2. As God's servants, it becomes us to fill up our time with duty, and we have a variety of work appointed us to do; we ought to make the end of one service the beginning of another. The servant that has been ploughing, or feeding cattle, in the field, when he comes home at night has work to do still; he must wait at table.

Very humbling indeed. I was also reminded of remembering to always give thanks for the work or healing He has done in my life. I don't want to be like one of the 10 lepers who did not return to thank Him for what He has done.

I was also reminded of His coming, sometimes we can forget JESUS IS COMING and soon! I believe we are living in the Birth Pang stage of His return. There are so many warnings, are we listening to them? Or are the things of this world getting in the way. This was a great reminder for me, the verse that stood out to me was in Luke 17:37..
" Where will this happen, Lord?" the disciples asked. Jesus replied, " Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near."

It is near, all you have to do is turn on the news and see that those vultures are already gathering!

May you have a blessed weekend!!

Good Morning Girls - Week 1

Good Morning Girls: Week 1 Luke 17

Yay!! Week 1 is finally here! I was so excited I wanted to start a week earlier!! My time with The Lord first thing in the morning is my favorite time of day. GMG adds that special touch to it. I love how it encourages you to draw closer to Him, let it set in. The time is so sweet, not that it already is already. And then to share with friends makes it even more sweeter. To know your not alone in this life, to share with like minded sisters and have that community. It's just a sweet blessing and encouragement!!

With that I wanted to share our weekly challenge, weekly memory vs, encouragement and reading plan. Today's verses resonated...god showed me some new things that helped me understand his faithfulness towards us. I love the encouragement shared below. It's not for the other person I am to forgive its what's best for me.
Good-Morning-Girl-I-Forgive

Here's our Challenge for this week:

Week 1- Challenge-
Has bitterness and unforgiveness been holding you back from experiencing the freedom and joy you can have in Christ? Take steps of faith this week to hand your pain over to Jesus, ask Him to increase your faith and help you move in the direction of forgiveness and healing.
Week 1- Reading Plan
Good Morning Girls Weekly Reading Plan Wk 1

Worship Wednesday: Desperate hope for the mom who needs to breathe

I usually post a worship video on Wednesdays.  But I decided to post an encouraging video on the the new book that just released by Sally Clarkson and Sarah Mae  called "Desperate: Hope for the Mom who needs to Breathe". Are you that Mom? I know I am, being a working mom can have it's toll on you. There are many a times I've felt disconnected and at many of times.... liked it that way. It was easier to stay disconnected; the stress and mental exhaustion from work and home was just to much. I just couldn't deal with anything else.

This book has been such a blessing to read, changed my heart, made me realize that there is so much more that God has for me in motherhood. It gives you a biblical way of looking at being a mom, and encouraging you to have people in your life to help you along the way. We are not alone in this journey called "Motherhood". We are all in this together, I want to invite you to join me and many other women in reading this book. And then joining the on-line bible study over @ The Better Mom, beginning Tuesday, January 29.

Hug a book: Desperate by Sally Clarkson and Sarah Mae

Heres me hugging my ebook, since I couldnt find the book in town. The one Barnes & Nobles in town did not carry this book {they are not "modeled" for it - what's that supposed to mean??} and the Family Christian Bookstore had it in their boxes that they just received. So no copies of it on their shelves. It was a bummer, so here I am hugging my ipad that holds the ebook version. That was the best I could do for this desperate mom who wants to win a $25 gift card to starbucks or Target. Check out Sarah Mae's website {here} for more info.

Adrienne

Go check out  their website here Desperate Mom

 Love these quotes!!

desperatemom.com
“Once I decided that my children were God’s best will for my life, I saw all of my life through this grid. So when I went through my day, in general, if an interruption came into my life, since my “grid” said, “My children are my decided and valued priority,” then I could say yes to my children and put the other non-essential things aside because it did not fit with my priorities. The other tasks and goals in my life are secondary to the plans I have made to keep the Lord, my children and my husband first.” -Sally Clarkson

GMG - Women in the Word

Today I wanted to share with you this amazing organization "The Last Well". In my study group with the  Good Morning Girls, they are taking part in sponsoring The Last Well. When I saw how much $1 can go and make such a huge difference, I said "where can I sign up?" I prayed about it and the Lord is leading me to donate to this amazing organization.

Here is some info on it......

How much does one well cost?
  • ONE dollar gives ONE Liberian clean water for ONE year.  How many people can you help?
  • Purchase a water well for a community in Liberia for $3000.  The average well serves 1000 people!
  • Purchase a bio-sand water filter for one family in rural Liberia for $102.  You can give an entire family clean water!
How Can You Get Involved?
  • Add The Last Well to your Christmas list.
  • Talk with your family about The Last Well and give a family gift.
  • Give up a Christmas gift(s) and instead donate the money to The Last Well.
  • Invite your children to give up a Christmas gift(s) and donate the money to The Last Well.
  • Have a “Happy Birthday Jesus” party with your friends and their kids. (I talk about this idea in our Advent eBook on page 40) Instead of having children bring gifts to donate, have them donate the money online and learn more about the need for clean water in Liberia, building awareness of how other children live around the world. {I thought this is a great idea!!}
  • Tell friends about THE LAST Well by sharing this graphic on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, informing more people of this wonderful organization and the great need of physical water and the “Living Water” in Liberia!
  • PRAY! Pray God will use us mightily in this nation for HIS GLORY!
Please join GMG as we strive to make a difference in our generation for Christ by serving one of the poorest countries in the world. Imagine what 17,000 Good Morning Girls could do by giving just $10 each. We could provide clean water and the Gospel to thousands of Liberians, saving lives now and changing eternal destinies as well.
Please join us this Christmas and help change a nation in the name of Jesus, one water well at a time!
Please go to Good Morning Girls to donate.

Blessings,
Adrienne

GMG Advent Week 1: Hope

Hope

I am so excited it's week 1 of our Good Morning Girls Advent Study!! Keeping our hearts focused on Jesus, finding hope in Him.

When life seems so hopeless who are you putting your hope and trust in? We must put our hope in Jesus, He is the only one that can provide hope for us. Not self-help books, friends, family, work or anything else. Just Jesus! I love what Angela said in her post this weekend

"God gave us the greatest gift ever….He gave Himself….He gave us HOPE!"

"As Christians we always have hope not because of anything we can do or not do, but because of the gift of Jesus and His ultimate sacrifice so many years ago!"

May you find Hope in Jesus this Christmas, if you haven't done so already! He is the true Hope for us.

Please make sure to check out GMG here to see Angela's encouraging video, she is so sweet!

What is the Truth?

What is the truth?
Truth is not a feeling. Truth is not an idea. The truth is found in the Bible.Sincerity and good works do not bridge the gap of sin between God and man. Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse a person (Heb. 9:22; John 14:6). Sincerity and good works are merely the reliance upon what is in the individual to merit favor with God. Sincerity is a form of pride when it is appealed to as a justification for being accepted by God: "But God, look at my heart. See how sincere I was? I deserve to be in heaven."No. If sincerity and good works were good enough to satisfy God, then He wouldn't have given us the Bible to correct our sincerely wrong ideas, and He wouldn't have sent His Son to do what our good works cannot.Truth is what God says is true. The truth is important not because it is simply true. It is important because truth is what defines who and what we believe in.Eternity is a long time to be wrong. Especially about Jesus.

What me and my Family Believe

What We Believe
WE BELIEVE the worship of God should be spiritual! Therefore we remain flexible so the Holy Spirit may direct our worship.
WE BELIEVE the worship of God should be inspirational! Therefore we give a great place to music in our worship.
WE BELIEVE the worship of God should be intelligent! Therefore, in our services, we emphasize Bible teaching so God may instruct us how He would be worshipped.
WE BELIEVE the worship of God should be fruitful! Therefore we look for His love in our lives as the greatest evidence that we are truly worshipping Him.

How To Know God

How to Know God

Realize that you are a sinner. No matter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a good person. That is because we are all sinners. We all fall short of God’s desire for us to be holy. The Bible says, “No one is good—not even one” (Romans 3:10 NLT). This is because we cannot become who we are supposed to be without Jesus Christ.Recognize that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.The Bible tells us, “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while were still sinners” (Romans 5:8 NLT). This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.Repent of your sin.The Bible tells us to “repent and be converted” (Acts 3:19 NKJV). The word repent means to change our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him.Receive Jesus Christ into your life.Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church on Sunday. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door (of your life) and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in...” (Revelation 3:20 NKJV).

If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray this prayer and mean it in your heart.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess you as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me. Amen.If you just prayed that prayer and meant it, Jesus Christ has now taken residence in your heart! Your decision to follow Christ means God has forgiven you and that you will spend eternity in heaven.

The Bible tells us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 NKJV).

Praise the Lord, if you just asked Jesus in your heart I want you to know that the Angels in Heaven are rejoicing for you and so am I. Go to http://www.calvarychapel.com/?show=Churches and click on churches to find the closest church to you and go. Go and tell them that you've just accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart. They will be able to lead you to the next step.

God Bless you Brethren.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus!!! Amen!!!
Your sister in Christ Jesus!!!
Adrienne
