Setting the right atmosphere for our homes..
Here are the calender devo's that I have been encouraged byand I wanted to share with you.
The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands. Proverbs 14:1
"Who is responisble for the quality of life in taht place where the family lives? The woman! She sets the mood and maintains the atmosphere inside the home. In fact, this proverb teaches that if the woman is wise, she diligently and purposefully creates that atmosphere. She doesn't just hope it will happen."
We are the thermostats in our home! I want the atmosphere inside our home to be warm, cheerful, loving, positive, and constructive. So I try to go to God's word each morning {remember, God is first} and pray, giving Him the opportunity to set the temperature of my heart to match His.
God gives me the heart , the wisdom, and the words to create a healthy atmosphere. He will do the same for you as you build the atmosphere of your home.
This is such a great devotion. We are the thermostats in our home, we set the mood and the temperatures. If we have a sour attitude it will trickle down to our children. We our the examples, we have to be setting the right examples. Granted, we are going to fall and mess up. But it's what we do after our falls, are we going to our children and asking for forgiveness for the way we behaved. That is setting the example for them knowing that we are not perfect, just like them, and we are going to mess up but what is mommy doing afterwards. She is going and asking for forgiveness from them and the Lord.
There is a saying that goes "If Mama ain't happy...no one is happy." And that shouldn't be a true statement for us, but I have to say honestly this has been the case. I notice that when I'm having a bad that I can tend to take out on kids or hubby and then they end up getting in a sour mood and it is just not what is right or pleasing to the Lord.
We need to check our hearts through out the day...
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; Psalm 139:23 NKJV
Heavenly Father, I lift up every single lady that drops by here today. Lord you know their struggles, and frustrations, and I lift them up to You would You give them the strength they need for today. Would you help them in those areas that they struggle in...maybe it's being quick to get angry, or is tired of picking another sock from the floor..whatever it is Lord. You know them, I pray that you would soften hearts, especially mine, would You align our hearts with You. Would You set the right temperature in our hearts Lord. Help us to be those Godly examples to our children. Father, I thank You that Your mercies are new every morning, and that You renew us day by day. In Jesus Name I pray AMEN!!
Have a blessed Monday!
By His Grace,
Adrienne
