Seek Him!
Today is Woman in the Word Wednesday, shhh...it's Thursday but it's ok. :) God is sooo good isn't He?! We have absolutely nothing to worry about...nothing. He's got us in His hands, right where He wants us. Our circumstances might seem difficult or impossible or painful, but that is where He has you. Trust and know that He is in control and is doing a work in you. We just need to abide in Him, connect ourselves to Him. Sometimes that can be difficult as busy mamas, working mamas, and through trials etc....It is the upmost importance to spend that time with Him on a daily, hourly, minute, or second basis. There have been soo many times where I was in a "rush" and didn't spend that quality time with Him. My day was not in the spirit and was not lead by the Spirit. It was lead by me, I missed out on blessings that day. But God still loves me anyway through that. He shows me when I haven't given Him that time to spend with Him. He scraficed His Son Jesus Christ for us so that we can live in eternity with Him. Why can't we just scrafice our time {first fruits} of our day to Him? It is the least we can do for Him, give Him our time, and that's all He asks for is our time.
He has been pruning out things that didn't belong or taking my time from Him. At first it was hard, but I had to let go and Let God, surrender those things to Him! And He has not let me down, my flesh on the other hand has, many of times, people have let me down. Praise God that He will never let us down. His ways are Higher than our ways. But to be right where He wants me is the best place to be. Sometimes things or people might influence us or keep us away from worshipping and fellowshipping with Him. That's why it is soo important to stay connected to the vine, abide in Him. During my I John Bible Study {from Good Morning Girls} a few verses have really jumped out to me this week and I 've been really chewing on them this week.
I John 2:24-29
24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that He has promised us--eternal life. 26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. 29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
He has promised us eternal life, but we have to abide in Him. When we abide He annoints us and we stay connected. His opinions matter, not anyone elses. His counsel matters, not anyone elses. Don't get me wrong counsel is a blessing {when lead by Him} when received by truth and in love. Test what you receive in counsel by the scriptures. Also when abiding in Him you will know when someone is trying to deceive you or press their own convictions, influences or opinions on you.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 NKJV
By seeking Him first He will give you the counsel you do need, weither it be a person, or scripture or whatever He uses to reach you. But you first must seek Him FIRST, don't go going around getting everyone's opinions or counsel first, go to God first. You will be giving Him your first fruits in that. He will bless you for that. Trying to get others opinions, acceptance, or counsel can get get a little frustrating, confusing, or they might fail you. He will lead you and guide you in the right direction or lead you to that person that has something from HIM specifically for you. This takes patience but God answers in His timing and in His ways not ours.
Seeking Him,
Adrienne
