I am loving the Advent study....drawing me closer to Him. This weeks theme is Hope, we are to put our hope in Him. He is the hope for the world. When we have nothing left in and of ourselves we have that Hope in Christ Jesus. There will always be Hope in Him. With that I wanted to share, what I shared with my GMG's, the verses for today and what I got out of it.
'Behold, the days are coming,' says the Lord, 'that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah: 15 'In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
Jeremiah 33:14-15
I love these verses, God was promising the coming of His Son Jesus Christ. God is so faithful in keeping His promises. I love what He calls Jesus a “Branch of righteousness”. It reminds me of how we are to abide in Him. When we are abiding in Him He blesses us. God will never fail us, He will never leave us, He keeps His promises. I have tried to keep many promises and came to find out that I could not do it all. We have to let it go and allow God to work in our lives. And trust in Him alone. He is the only one that can get us through today; He gives us all we need. “We can do all things through Christ Jesus whom gives us strength” Phil 4:13. This is my husband’s favorite verse, I always wanted to know what was it about this verse that he loved. My husband has had 7+ surgeries since 2005 up until the beginning of this year or last year. It’s a blessing to see How God is working in His life through all this. I think about that my husband can’t do it in his own physical strength. He definitely tries too, my husband is the best I could ever ask for. He completely relies on the Lord for his physical strength. He suffers from pain every day, I know now that why He choose that verse he can only do it through Christ Jesus whom gives Him strength.
When there is something that seems just too difficult for you know that someone has it way worse. But not only that, find comfort in knowing that Christ Jesus is right there with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. And what you are going through shall pass; God is just stretching you and molding you into His image and likeness. This is what God is doing in my life and in my husband’s life and your life. I am so very thankful for all that I’ve gone through it’s only drawn me closer to the Lord. So thank you Lord for all the trials!!
Heavenly Father, I lift up my sisters to You and whatever they are going through today Lord may You remind them that You are on the throne and that You are right there with them. May you give them a kiss on the forehead, comfort them, and strengthen them. Multiply their efforts. Use us in a mighty way today Jesus for Your kingdom purposes. I lift and hand this day to You Lord, not our will but Your will be done. In Jesus name I pray AMEN!
Blessings!
