Encouragement for Moms: Providing
{taken from my morning calendar devotions}
“What is the worst task on your to-do list? Do it first and you’ll keep that heavy cloud of dread from hanging over you all day long…..And once that worst is done, your attitude will be greatly improved and you’ll have more energy for the tasks that remain.”
“Weaving a tapestry of beauty in our home also calls for action. To successfully make the home of my dreams and God’s call a reality, I have to be there, working and weaving on it every day. I have to plan the picture and select the colors, threads and textures. I have to know what I want the finished tapestry to look like, and I have to pay attention to details along the way.”
I love the tip aboutdoing the daunting task first and once you do that first your attitude will be greatly improved. Hmmm…..I am going to try that. I am encouraged by the part that says “ to successfully make the home of my dreams and God’s call a reality, I have to be there, working and weaving on it every day. I know that this can be hard for some of us, I am struggling in this area in this season of my life. I just need to focus more on the Lord and less on my circumstances at hand.
Father, I pray for every mom out there that you’ve called to be a Mom. Would you give and provide for their every need today. Weither it be grace, mercy, love, strength, patience, long-suffering, gentlesness, kindness, goodness {all the fruits of the spirit}. You know their every need, their cries of their heart. Bless them right now exactly where they are at, give them the strength and grace for today. Lord not our will but thine be done, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray AMEN.
Last week my sweet friend blessed me with this poem taken from Lessons from Ivy {click here}
Lord you are welcome in my home and my heart today.
Help me seek You first.
In the beauty of my family, You are welcome.
In the mess of my heart, You are welcome.
You are welcome when I am overwhelmed.
You are welcome when I am at peace.
Lord help us open our hearts today to You.
I thought it fit perfectly for this post. Ladies please know that you are not alone in this walk of motherhood, and remember to count your blessings, be thankful for things that you do have {good and bad}.
