Today is the first day for the Fall Challenge: Making Your Home a Haven - Week 1. I am soo excited {squeal, squeal, can you tell!!}
Here is the first Challenge:
Go buy an extra large candle or one that you already have already {if your a couponer like I am you can find some good deals on candles} and light a candle everyday in your home. I will be starting mine in the morning! But you can start yours at dinner time. Do what makes sense for your family. I will be placing mine in the kitchen – the main hub of my home. Each time the candle catches your eye, say a prayer for peace in your home.I love what Courtney from Woman Living Well asks on her blog:
What makes a home a haven? Is it having a home that looks like it popped out of Better Homes and Gardens with unbelievable decorating? Is it a home that has massive amounts of toys, food to feast on, video games stacked high and every movie imaginable to view? Is it a certain number of square feet, a separate bedroom for each child, or the neighborhood you live in?
No. It is not the things we have or the things we do not have that make our homes a haven. It’s you – my dear reader – you are the key to making the home a haven.
Go to her website to check out the rest of her post, it's so encouraging. She talks about being distant or engaged and how comares a home of a distant mother {home #1} and the home of an engaged mother {home #2). I can honestly confess that I am home #1. My hearts desire is home #2, is was such a God moment when I read this today because this has soo been on my heart lately. So this is perfect and a confirmation for me. Thank you Jesus! I really have just been so encouraged by the Woman living Well blog. In this new season of my life, I had to adjust my schedule, my time, my priorites. And this season I am not able to attend our Womans Bible Study. But I knew that the Lord would bless me and He so has by this blog. It's for me, a Woman's Study on line. And this works out for this working mama! I had found her blog about 1.5 years ago and had at that time prayed for something to get me through my summer and her blog was such a blessing. I have continued to follow it and am so encouraged by it and am ministered by it. So if you feel lead check out her site.
God Bless you on your challenge this week.
